Like a private tutor, our books provide additional support and extra practise in writing, grammar, spelling, punctuation and maths. They build confidence and boost grades.
Our books have been written with children in mind, trialled by them in our private lessons and have produced rapid results. Sally’s pupils, including her own children, have been taught by Guinea Pig materials and have achieved academic excellence.
How Guinea Pig Education Started.
Guinea Pig Education is a family run business headed by Sally Anne Wake Jones, and her daughter, Amanda.
Sally Anne qualified as a teacher in 1974. She worked as a class teacher in a school before starting her private tuition business. Amanda has a BA in English Language and Linguistics. Plus, an MA in sociology.
In 1990, Sally Anne started a private tuition business teaching children, of all abilities, one to one.
She felt there was insufficient material on the market and began writing her own schemes of work, to suit the needs of individual children.
In 2004, these schemes were developed into textbooks and sold to clients of Guinea Pig Education, local parents, retail stores and online.
